Our Trip to the Florida Outpouring, FL Apr 27th, 2008
Author: FIREKEEP

FL Outpouring, Todd BentleyOur preparation for our trip to the FL outpouring began on Tuesday night, when Todd Bentley called for people watching on God TV to bring the sickest of the sick on Friday.
So I got on the phone and called my friend Joel who lives in MD, and asked him if he would go down with my son and I.

My son Ethan is 5 years old, and was born with Cerebral Palsy due to oxygen deprivation in the womb (cause medically unknown). you can see his story here: prayforethan.com

Joel prayed and thought about it and let me know the next day he was coming. He left after work on Thursday night, and drove the 5 hours to WV to meet us. We left at 10:40 pm and drove straight through all night taking turns driving while Ethan slept. The trip was uneventful, and took approximately 13 hours. We went first to the Ignited Church where we caught the tail end of the service and stood in line with others for prayer. While that service was wrapping up, we went forward and prayed at the altar, and pastor Alan from the UK prayed with Ethan and I .

We then headed to the new location in Auburndale after stocking up on ice and drinks/food for the siege (e.g. waiting in line).
We waited in line from 1:30 pm til 6:15 pm.Waiting Outside in Auburndale FL for the outpouring service.

We decided to actually carry Ethan in his stroller instead of pushing it because the crowd was so intense.

Crowd Gathers Before Evening Service at the FL Outpouring

Once inside, Ethan and I were shown some seating where they had removed a row of pews to make room for wheelchairs. We were able to get a seat for Joel right behind us.

Once worship started, we went down front (as is our custom) and worshipped our great king. Worshipping Our King at the FL Outpouring
When the music ended, we turned to go back to our seats, but a sweet lady (Ramona Hofer) that I did not know beside us offered to let us sit there with her on the 3rd row that had been reserved for guests of the ministry. At first I declined, then I thought, maybe this is a God thing, so I accepted.

Long story short, Ethan has not yet seen his healing, however I do believe that this is an authentic move of God, based on what I have been watching on God TV, and what I saw in person there Friday night.
Some of the reactions of the people, and Todd were almost incredulous, like they were even surprised by what God had done. As with anything, there are also some things I question regarding testimonies, methods/mannerisms, however those are the minority.

My overall perception on this is that God is releasing more of the miracles etc in this season, and those who are already on the ground swinging a sword are experiencing this first. I do not believe it is limited to FL or Todd Bentley as some seem to imply, but the fruit is evidencing the presence of God.

Speaking as someone who has more reason than many to be skeptical (I did not see my son healed — yet) If you need healing, or want to carry the revival fire back to your church GO TO FL AND ASK GOD FOR IT!!!!

ToddBentleyA Quick post to update you on the awesome stuff God is doing in Lakeland FL.

A third-party article (new york times owned lakeland area newspaper) that raises questions, but skeptically acknowledges testimony of attendees.

here is a link to Todd Bentley’s blog that talks about what is going on: Todd’s Blog

I have seen Todd Bentley in the past, and what is going on in FL is definitely the next level compared to how it was when I saw him previously.

You can watch online at: freshfire.ca
or you can watch it on Direct TV channel 365 GODTV, or online at god.tv

On a personal note, I will be driving all night with my 5 year old son on Thursday night to get there early Friday morning and wait in line to see my son healed. Last night on GodTV we were watching, and Todd called everyone to bring the sickest people on Friday to the service. My son had severe brain damage caused by oxygen deprivation in the womb (medical cause unknown). you can see his story here: prayforethan.com

If you have never seen a miracle, I encourage you to go. If you need healing, I encourage you to go.

God is Like Orville Redenbacher (sort of) Apr 13th, 2008
Author: FIREKEEP

This is a Modern day Parable/Analogy. God is definitely much more all-encompassing than a single human, but in my reflection today this simple analogy came to me.

The Kingdom is like a kettle of popcorn on a stovetop.

You have been a popcorn seed for as long as you can remember, sitting in a bag in a cabinet.

One day you find yourself taking an oil bath with other kernels just like you.

At first it is heavenly, the oil is refreshing, and you find great camaraderie with your other kernels. All of whom are happy to be out of the dry bag you had found yourselves in for so long.

And wow, the kettle is actually cozy and warm, but before you know it the heat increases to the point where you feel like you are going to explode, and something keeps shaking you around so you can’t get comfortable.

Then finally it happens - you explode, it feels wonderful, you are finally free of that hard shell that kept you imprisoned for so long, and you see yourself in a whole new light.

Soon other kernels experience the same thing, only a few at first, but then it seems like the entire kernel population has erupted into this newfound form.

As you look around though, you do see some of the kernels that refuse to be released.

Then it happens, there are so many of you experiencing the transformation that you actually blow the lid off, and before you know it you find yourself in a new container that brings you even closer to your destiny.

You have now been transformed from a dead, dry, armored shell, into an oil-drenched white fluffy piece of popcorn well-suited as food for consumption.

Over the last few months this has started taking place at my home church.

I can only speak about it from my perspective.

For me it started with a desire to pray and ask God for an outpouring of His Spirit.

So a few of us have been meeting on Monday nights praying for that very thing.

I know the Holy Spirit has already came at Pentecost, however there have been many powerful moves of the Spirit since - in similar fashion, even as recent as within the last 100 years.

H. A. Baker experienced it with his orphan street kids in China,

Charles Finney experienced it in his own life, in rural Ohio,

The Azusa street revival, Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship, the list goes on.

If God is not a respecter of persons, and he promises to Give us His spirit for those who ask, then that must include me and my family and my Church family here in tiny little Lewisburg WV.

The week before our Pastor brought us a fiery message “Stepping Over The Line” God decided to heal one of our youth group kids instantly. ( see story here: Erin’s Miracle) That Sunday (the Sunday of his message) several more people received prayer and testified about how God had touched them.

Two weeks ago another lady in our church came to pick up her child from our youth group, and we were calling for people who needed prayer for healing to come forward.

Her son brought her in, and God delivered her from a tormenting spirit, healing her injured ankle on the spot, and gave her a key to seeing it through via a word of knowledge.

A lady in our congregation prayed for one of her employees to be healed (who also is part of our congregation) and God healed her on the spot!

This Sunday, our pastor called for anyone who needed healing to come up, and one lady was receiving prayer, and God put her on the floor (with no coercion) she actually fell so hard it looked like she could have been hurt. And the beautiful thing was that it surprised the lady who was praying with her so much that she was somewhat upset by the whole thing.

I am amazed by our great King. God we ask you for more.

Be encouraged, seek His face, keep the flame.

Olympic Protest Apr 9th, 2008
Author: FIREKEEP

Here is a perspective from a Christian missionary on the ground in China. The comments sum up why he asks would-be protestors not to protest.
His Name is Ken Harley.

Friends,

Please pray urgently that Christians and others will stop protesting against China now and continuously through the Olympics!

Also…please pass this email on to all of your friends!

It is interesting how Buddhists, Muslims and Hindus have been protesting to one degree or another against China recently.

It is imperative that Christians do not protest but pray and give to friendship projects that will show Chinese government leaders and Christians in China that Christians around the world love China and pray for the development of China through International friendship and encouragement of Christians and others in China.

Please pass this prayer request to 100 of your friends by email or other means.

We need to pray that all of this dissension stops in the Name of Jesus Christ!

Please do not support a Free Tibet led by the Dalai Lama. Tibet before it was taken over by China in the 1950’s was ruled by the Dalai Lama and rich noble lords. These nobles kept people in poverty and ruled them by demonic darkness and lies. Enemies of that State were tortured by ancient means and Christianity was not a factor in Tibet at that time.

These protests are propaganda attempts at ruining the Olympics and Christians protesting and doing civil disobedience will potentially ruin the possibility for Christians around the world and in China to love and encourage one another, which would lead to a change in China as a whole.

Do not believe the lies that are circulating. Christians do not need to join these savage, disreputable protests.

The power of God is caught on audio tape as it moves in a community. Watch the video.

Week of Miracles — More Lord Feb 17th, 2008
Author: FIREKEEP

Ok, so this week I saw the first instant Healing Miracle I have ever been actively involved in.

So here it is, in all it’s gloriously simple details.
I’ll try to leave nothing out, no matter how insignificant it may seem.
NOTE: I don’t know how to write this and have the same effect without doing it in the first person. It is not my intent to draw attention to myself by using so many “I’s”. God is the one who orchestrated all of this, He is the one who heals.

Precursor:
Last Wednesday night, Erin, one of our sweet, sweet youth group girls was taken to the ER with pain in her abdomen (it had been hurting her for about a week if I recall).

They couldn’t let Beth (my Assistant) or I back to see her when we stopped by, but we later heard that she had infected lymph nodes surrounding her appendix. She relayed, that they told her that if it did not clear up she would have to undergo surgery to have her appendix removed.

As it turns out I didn’t know she was coming last night, but the Spirit had stirred me that morning to bring our little vial of anointing oil with me, so I stuck it in my car for the service (not yet knowing why).

My plan was actually to teach on healing last night, using a lesson developed by Doug Fields centered around the pool of Bethesda. God had better plans. In the words of my awesome earthly father “Don’t teach me about healing, bring it!” I taught nothing, and I didn’t even get to show the two clips of the video “Finger of God” that had miracles in it like I planned. Again, God had better plans.

The Kingdom Comes:
Fast forward to last night, Erin was among the first kids to show up, and came up to me and told me that her infection was getting worse (evidenced by the increasing pain). I asked her if we could pray for her for healing as a group, and she agreed.

To start our service off, we usually begin with worship through music, but last night we did not have a full team due to the Flu. So we used my Ipod and played three songs. Before the songs began, I told our team and the kids that there was someone we were going to pray for tonight to be healed. (Though He did not reveal to me that He was going to Heal Erin.) I also told them that when I was doing some boring administrative preparatory stuff for the service, I perceived that there was an opportunity for us to reach into the heavenly dimension tonight and bring the Kingdom to Earth. I don’t really know how to describe this, but it was almost like an invisible curtain that we could reach into and take her healing.

So I asked them to just pray during worship, I asked them to get themselves “right with God” [I really hate cliché terms, but you know what I mean :) ] right up front, and then instructed them to get down to business and ask God to come in power tonight. We listened to the songs, and I could feel His presence, and I could tell others on our team could feel it too, though it wasn’t any stronger than usual for me. While we were praying, I was actually asking God to heal her without any of us touching her, as we were all worshipping. (Since this is all new for us, and we are learning on the job my heart was for this, so that there would not be any opportunity for pride to find it’s way into our hearts, like we were some super-spiritual giants or something.) While we were praying I was asking God to demonstrate His great Love for Erin tonight by healing her, and I saw a fuzzy vision of us carrying her in a chair like she was a person to be honored, someone loved by a King.

So after those songs ended I put on the song “Mighty River” by Jason Upton and set it to loop. We asked Erin to come to the front and we put her into the nicest chair we have. Modeling one of my current day heroes of the faith, David Hogan, I requested that only the people who actually believed God would heal her tonight to pray, and without putting any condemnation on the others, just said they could observe. I was quite pleased when, too my knowledge, everyone got involved praying once we started. I asked 4 of our strongest guys to help me hold up the chair. With all of us crowded around her praying it didn’t feel safe to actually carry her around, so I just told us all to stay put (hoping in my heart that this wasn’t a “Moses striking the rock” event for me).

So we started praying — I started by asking God to flood her with His love, and give her a physical sensation of it in her body (to increase faith). Then we all prayed, sometimes together, sometimes in turn. After approx 10 mins I asked everyone to set her down, because I wanted her to test and see if she was improving, however at this time, after setting her down, she was so consumed by His Glory that she was unresponsive. She wasn’t unconscious, but she couldn’t, or wouldn’t talk. So we kept praying, asking Him for more. I asked all the girls who wanted to, to put their hands somewhere on her stomach, and take turns praying out loud, and asked all the boys to put their hands [appropriately] on one of the girls that were touching her. When there was a lull, myself or one of the leaders would pray. I suppose another 10 or 15 minutes went by, and I tried to talk to her again, I asked her what was going on. At this time, she said something but I couldn’t make out what she said (too much loud music in my lifetime). So Mariah, who was supporting her and closest to her face, translated for me. She had said “I feel like I am still floating” (referencing us holding her in the chair). She may have said something else as well, but I didn’t catch it if she did. So we all kind-of erupted into rejoicing, and went back at it. It was at this point (I think) I asked all of the boys to move in close and put their hands on her head and pray (beingcareful not to use her head as an armrest).

We prayed many things, but the things I remember are:
for His love to overcome her (this was a big focus)
for His Spirit to fill her
we rebuked any generational ties
dark spiritual connections
rebuked infirmity, etc. (I try to address things in a way that gets to the point but doesn’t scare kids, I learned this from Eric Smith, and Joel Denning.)

We probably prayed for another 10 mins or so, and I asked Erin again to rate on a scale of 1 to 10 how she was now (1 being the way she felt when she came, and 10 being perfectly healed). I don’t remember what she said.

Next, I asked her to do something she couldn’t do before (something I learned in a practical sense from Bill Johnson, and conceptually from Jesus’ example of telling people who were lame, to walk, etc…) She then said it hurt to walk before, and took about 5 or 6 steps, still groggy and a little wobbly, some would say “drunk.” Then she said clearly and distinctly, “I couldn’t bend over before” [due to the intense pain]. I was standing right in front of her at this point in case she fell. She bent all the way over, and then straightened up, and started sobbing. I asked her “Are those pain tears or happy tears?” See nodded emphatically when I said “happy tears”, so I gave her a big hug, and we all started laughing and whoopin’ it up like a bunch a crazy Jesus freaks that go to “That Church” as we have been humorously referred to in the community. :)

After a few more minutes went by, I asked her to rate on a scale of 1 to 10 how she felt now.
She said “9?” with a hint of amazement in her tone, like “Is this really happening?”

I told her that she now had to go tell everybody how cool God was and what He did for her.

I called her house the next morning, and spoke with her mom, and she stated that Erin came home bubbling with excitement, perfectly fine and woke up fine.

I called her house again on my way home from work, and spoke to Erin. She said she went to school for the first time in over a week, and she has no more pain…

For those of you who were there, please e-mail me if I have left anything out. The more fully we recount this miracle of instant healing, the more we have the overcoming power of testimony. I plan on interviewing Erin on video next Wed, as she is going out of town this weekend. All of you who were there I’d like to do a quick reenactment of it. So we can record this for the purpose of building faith, and moving from Glory to Glory.

After the service, I was speaking to Sara and Rob, who came in late that night. (they have came only a couple time that I remember in the last 2 years) I told them “It wasn’t a coincidence that you came tonight.” Rob responded matter-of-factly “I know, God told me to get in the car and come to church.” Rob told me that during one of the songs (I don’t remember which one) that the knot in his stomach left, and “all the bones in his back and neck popped”. I had shown Rob part of the “Finger of God” video on lunch, and he said he needed to see a miracle himself.

Father, we honor You for what You have done in our midst, and we ask You for more. More Lord. May Your Kingdom continue to come, and may Your will be done. Help us to see and hear what You want to do through us on the earth, and help us to align ourselves with Your waves and surf them to Your shore. (Psalms 42 embellished)

UPDATE: Today we shared the above testimony in our main sanctuary at Church, and we asked people who needed healing to come forward.
None of this has been confirmed, except by the public testimony of the individuals themselves, however I have no reason not to believe them.

The service this morning was incredible.

We had several people testify to the power of God coming on them.
Words of knowledge happened, love was dominant.

When I asked for people to testify of being able to do something that they couldn’t do before. An RN who is a very solid person, just had surgery this past week to remove a breast due to cancer, said that God woke her up around 5 this morning and told her she needed to be in church. She came, but was really in a lot of physical discomfort, but while here, God restored her to the point she was felt a major improvement. She also said that she believed God was going to confirm on Thursday that she needs no Chemo, or Xray, when she sees the doctor.

Another lady had something wrong with her uterus, had went to the doctor last week, but due to the problem they coudln’t actually do the test because it was sealed closed. She said she felt God’s power wash over her and was confident that tomorrow when she goes to the doctor everything will be fine.

Several ladies testified to feeling his power on them.

Another guys is a newcomer to our congregation he is a retired colonel in the navy, and he had a stroke. I didn’t know him. His speech is the worst case his therapist has ever worked with. We prayed for his speech to be healed. When we were done, it was still slurred, but he said it had improved.

Another lady was tormented with fear, and it assaults her body physically, and she said she felt God come over her and clear her mind.

An older lady had a problem with her eye, even after surgery, and she said that she received another language this morning and felt.

Anyhow I think about 20 people came forward for prayer, and it was amazing to partake in what God is doing.

Abortion is nothing more than human sacrifice on the altar of convenience.
It is no different than pagan sacrifice of infants in ancient rituals,
where people would sacrifice their infants for good crops, prosperity, etc…

You can help end abortion in America. Over 50 million unique individual humans have been killed one at a time since roe vs. wade

Their blood cries out from the ground. When will the righteous stand and tolerate this no longer?

podcast update - onething 2007 Jan 15th, 2008

hi guys we have posted 20+ sessions from onething 2007 on the podcast: onething 2007 podcast files
enjoy!!!!
Special Thanks to Matt White for typing out all the summary info for me.

KEEP THE FLAME!!!!

While at onething 2007, (@ IHOP in Kansas City, MO) I spent a good bit of time in the prayer room reading Rick Joyner’s book the Final Quest. It rocked my world!

My life course has been greatly impacted by this book (and I thought I was on fire before).

I would love to hear what this book has done in other people’s lives.
Post your comments below. (things are still settling out for me, but in a few weeks I will be able to comment more in detail about how this book changed my daily routine. The story of Angelo really hit me hard.)

Keep the Flame!

ADDED 1/23/08

Thirteen Stories

With tears streaming down my face, I stand up and exit the prayer room, I have had all I can handle for now. His presence is so overwhelming I have to give my skin-suit a break from the intensity, besides I need to go find him… I head out into the corridor, gain my bearings and beeline for the door. My mind is racing, I hope he is still around - the homeless man we bought soup for the other day.
At a brisk pace I head for the last place I saw him, the food court we eat at, about a half mile away. The sound of my shoes on the snow and ice remind me that he was only wearing “Crocs” and it can’t be more than 20 degrees out here. Why was I content to just buy him food the other day, instead of at least attempting to engage him in conversation? I had told myself that I didn’t want to make him uncomfortable, which was true, but if I was homeless wouldn’t I have enjoyed a conversation with someone who would treat me like a fellow human. I remembered how someone had came up to me and praised me for buying him lunch. Why do I like it so much when people notice the “good works” I do. Pride, I hate it.
I’m almost there, at least he has the food court to go and get warm in, I think to myself. I turn the corner, OH, NO, the door’s locked! They closed a half hour ago. Where can he be? I know, I’ll circle the block, maybe he’s tucked into a doorway somewhere. I’m out of breath now, and my lungs are starting to ache. I circle the block. Man, this is a long way around. He’s nowhere to be seen.
As I make my way back to Bartle Hall where onething is held, I reflect on what sent me on this hike in the cold. While in the prayer room I was reading the book “The Final Quest “ by Rick Joyner. I had just finished the story about Angelo, a homeless man that God had given Rick a vision of, so that he would reach out to him in the park. However, Rick had forgotten the vision, and when he actually saw the man in the park, he had brushed him off as a “religious nut” being used by Satan to turn people off from God. God had intended Rick to reach out to the man and mentor him. My mind goes to God’s exaltation of Angelo in Heaven, and how the “last shall be first” now meant so much more to me than the watered-down “last in line at the fellowship dinner” concept this verse had been reduced to for me.
As I re-enter Bartle Hall and head back into the prayer room, my heart burns for the encounter to continue. The Holy Spirit has been stripping me bare, and exposing the complete depravity of my condition.

The heart is deceitful above all things,
and desperately wicked: who can know it?
Jeremiah 17:9

It is a beautiful thing – this unadulterated conviction, a force that brings true change.
But that’s just a glimpse of my story at onething, and there were thirteen of us in all.

onething is the annual gathering (sponsored by IHOP.org) of young adults from around the world seeking God through prayer, worship, teaching and impartation.
This year thirteen SEEKERS and workers went seeking an encounter with our great King. We were not disappointed.

Prayer Request for Mozambique and Iris Ministries Leadership

From Heidi Baker
October 22, 2007

Psalm 18:33-34 (All Scripture is from the NKJV.)
33. He makes my feet like the feet of deer,
And sets me on my high places.
34. He teaches my hands to make war,
So that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.

We are posting this special request to our family in Christ around the
world with the hope for stronger prayer covering. We have faced intense
spiritual warfare, some of the most difficult months of our lives, and
severe physical attacks. We are so grateful for those who have been
praying, fasting and crying out to God. We thank Jesus for each of you.
We are absolutely trusting the Lord with the situation and confident
that His ear is not too dull to hear nor His arm too short to save
(Isaiah 59:1). I have never felt stronger in my life. Jesus is helping
us. He is setting our feet like the feet of the deer on high places. He
is teaching our hands to war. I feel like a weight lifter who has built
up muscles over the years of past trials so I am now able to face
greater challenges. In this time of heavy attack, we would like to
solicit your prayers as we push through tremendous spiritual warfare.
Here is a partial list of the trials that have occurred in the past few
weeks:

1. Rolland has been very sick, lost forty pounds, had heart trouble and
flew to Amsterdam for treatment. I am leaving today to take care of
Rolland. Please pray for Jesus to move in powerful healing.

2. Last week, the head of the transport department, Pedro Simbini, had
an accident and totaled our administrator Julio’s new car while driving
it up to Pemba for him.

3. Julio, our head Mozambican administrator in Pemba, drove down with
his girlfriend Rachel to deal with the accident. They rolled their car
on the way there and were hospitalized. We have been told that the
third person riding with them is in serious condition. Rachel is not in
very good shape either.

4. Dr. Don Kantel, Associate Pemba Base Director alongside the Bakers,
has just had violent malaria since last Monday and is in the hospital
with a critical infection. We had to emergency fly him to South Africa.
(The good news received a few moments ago is that once Don got to SA,
the infection began to respond. Don’s wife, Elizabeth has just spoken
to him at the hospital while he was visiting with the Wheelers and Dr.
Eric who accompanied him. Don was so encouraged to hear that he may be
discharged tomorrow and be able to fly back on Tuesday.)

5. The same day another missionary hit a child with her Landrover. I
also had to take an emergency flight out last week due to an accident.
My face was split open and needed stitches. I’m recovering well.

6. My Mozambican secretary recently had an accident with her motorbike,
as well as Luciano, our associate pastor to Jose, who is our provincial
leader over the Iris churches in Cabo Delgado province.

7. Pedro Langa, the head of our Pemba kitchen, just broke his foot by
falling off his motorbike. He is in a cast.

8. As we all prayed together and warred in the tent, a large
construction truck weighing four tons tipped over inside our new church
building under construction. We had to war and literally push the 4-ton
truck out of our church.

I, felt the Lord told me to stand on a pile of rocks and proclaim the
victory in Jesus’ name, draw a line in the sand, and tell the enemy
that he could not cross it anymore. I felt led to tell the crowd
gathered that I was going to push the truck up and out. I asked, “Who
would be with me?” Hundreds gathered around and we pushed the four-ton
truck, which in the natural world would have needed a crane or large
wrecker, as we celebrated the victory with shouts of joy.

9. Witch doctors tried to poison Pastor Jose and me in a village. God
kept us from eating the witch doctor’s poison.

10. Surpresa Sithole, one of the four international directors of Iris
Ministries, had to attend the tragic funeral of his brother Pastor
Sithole and his cousin after a group of radical religious
anti-Christians cut him up into pieces because he was preaching the
gospel. Pastor Sithole will be greatly missed.

In Pemba, we are currently doing a corporate 21 day fast, as well as
organizing times to pray and worship together for the next 21 days.
After that, we will launch our next 24-7 prayer week.

We earnestly request that you stand with us, covering those those who
have been in accidents and the sick, especially Rolland, as well as
praying for protection for all of us here. Jesus purchased the victory
and we know He has amazing plans for Mozambique beyond anything we have
seen so far.

In the middle of all these trials, God spoke to me to rest in the boat
even in this storm. In the past few days, I have been meditating on
Hebrews 4:9-16:

9.There remains therefore a rest for the people of God.
10. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his
works as God did from His.
11. Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall
according to the same example of disobedience.
12. For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any
two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and
of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of
the heart.
13. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are
naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.
14. Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through
the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.
15. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our
weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.
16. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may
obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

We recently received a prophetic word that if we would enter into a
season of rest, God would release a revival that would never end. We
are clinging onto Him, this High Priest. We are holding onto His
promises in our time of need. Thank you for standing with us for full
victory.

In love with Jesus,

Thousands Will Gather Fasting for our Nation… May 21st, 2007
Author: FIREKEEP

Hi guys, I just wanted to get this on your radar. Angela and I will be taking our family to the culmination in Titan Stadium for the 40 day national/international fast.

Practical Fasting Guidelines

Read this and see if you’re inclined to join in the fast, and / or the gathering.
The information below comes from Lou Engle.

Beginning the evening of May 28, we are calling two generations to 40 days of fasting and prayer culminating on 7–7–07, the perfection of time. In a massive, national gathering of fasting, intercession, repentance and worship, we seek to declare our desire to remarry the Lord. We want to cross over into the promise land of national revival. We want to break this 40-year curse. May thousands seek God in water, juice and Daniel fasts from May 28 through 7–7–07, The Call in Nashville

We will be launching this fast with a worldwide simulcast on GOD TV on May 26, 2007. For all information on the 40-day fast and The Call Nashville please visit our websites.

There are moments in history when a door for massive change opens, and great revolutions for good or evil spring up in the vacuum created by these openings. In these divine moments, key men, women and even entire generations risk everything to become the hinge of history, the pivotal point that determines which way the door will swing.

The rebellious generation of the ’60s seized its moment, and history crashed into the deep abyss of drug addiction, sexual immorality, hatred for authority and a rejection of the law of God.  In 1967, there was a culminating and defining moment in that rebellion, when 100,000 young people, ages 15–25 flocked to San Francisco to experience the hippie movement.  This mass convergence was sparked by the hit song, “San Francisco” (Wear a Flower in your Hair).  Once there, these young adults experimented with LSD, pot, casual sex and Eastern mysticism in what became known as the “Summer of Love.”

When these newly recruited ‘Flower Children’ returned home at the end of the summer, they brought with them new styles and ideas, flooding the cities of the US and Europe with a message that opposed authority and scorned conservative morals. This counterculture rebellion was fueled by music and art, which rapidly shifted global culture.

For 40 years, we have been falling headlong into a black moral morass in America along with the western world. We are reaping the waves of destruction in every sector of our post Christian society. Can America survive another 40 years? We are declaring “NO! A thousand times NO!” Unless a massive spiritual shift occurs at this moment, our children will live under an antichrist system and Godless enculturation that will bring about the demise of America, as we know it.

But God has a prescription for such a massive shift and it is revealed in the power of the great transitional 40-day fast. God, in His sovereign control over the parade of history, delivered the Israelites out of Egypt. Longing to release a moral code that would give foundations for righteousness, for time and eternity, God summoned Moses to a 40-day fast on Mount Sinai. Through this fast, all of history changed and the law of God was delivered from Heaven to Earth. Therefore, if America is going to return to God, it must recover that law again as its foundation for truth.

Elijah, at the height of Jezebel’s cultic dominion over Israel fasted 40 days, broke the spell of Jezebel off of his own life and received a mandate to anoint the next generation. Elijah’s fast unleashed a movement that toppled Jezebel’s regime of hell, which perpetrated the destruction of family, the killing of innocent children, the silencing of the voice of God’s people and the widespread culture of sexual immorality. The fruit of this fast culminated in the utter destruction of Baal worship in Israel.

Also in the fullness of time, the Glorious Gospel era was born when Jesus fasted 40 days and those who sat in darkness saw a great light. Clearly the 40-day fast is Heaven’s great transitional prescription, moving nations from failure to fulfillment of promise. Is it any surprise that when Jesus was to enter into His great sacrifice—where death would be swallowed up in victory—Elijah and Moses appear with Him on the Mount of Transfiguration. All three were together as the 40-day fasters. They presided over the great transitions of history.

When the Israelites were poised to move into the Promise Land, spies were sent out for 40 days. When they returned carrying an evil report, a whole generation was infected with unbelief and they turned their back on the Promise Land.  God’s sentence on that generation was “And your sons shall be wanderers in the wilderness for forty years and bear the brunt of your infidelity until your carcasses are consumed in the wilderness. According to the number of the days in which you spied out the land forty days, for each day you shall bear your guilt one year, namely forty years, and you shall know my rejection.” (Numbers 14:33–34) It was 40 years of judgment for 40 days failure.

Conversely, the great prophet Ezekiel received a 40-day prayer assignment for a 40-year failure of Judah’s iniquity. “Lie again on your right side, then you shall bear the iniquity of the house of Judah, forty days I have laid on you a day for each year.” (Ezekiel 4:6) It was clearly 40 days prayer for 40 years of failure.

When Jesus fasted 40 days and was tempted of the devil He quoted from the book of Deuteronomy saying “It is written man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.” And again, “You shall not tempt the Lord thy God” and again, “You shall worship the Lord your God and Him only shall you worship.” Jesus, in His victory over Satan, was quoting the book of Deuteronomy, the portion of scripture delivered by Moses to the generation who failed in the desert. Jesus, in His 40-day fast, was clearly identifying with that passage of scripture and the generation that came out of Egypt. As an intercessor in His 40-day fast, Jesus was fulfilling what a generation had failed in for 40 years.

Forty years are up! Could the Church of America in a 40-day fast deliver a nation out of a 40-year curse? We have scriptural precedent to believe for such a turning! Therefore, we are trumpeting a call to 40 days of fasting like Moses, Elijah, Ezekiel and Jesus. We must bear the iniquity in 40 days of fasting and intercession for the past 40 years of divorcing God in America, embracing a culture of sexual immorality, hedonism, materialism, abortion and the rejection of Christ in public places. But we are also calling for 40 days of fasting and prayer for the greatest outbreak of Kingdom power, in signs and wonders, and the spiritual awakening in America that will collide with this present darkness and topple its cultural dominion over our people. Thousands went on 40-day fasts in 1946 and in 1947, the great healing revivals broke out.  In 1948, the Latter Rain outpourings began, Bill Bright and Billy Graham’s ministries were born, and Israel became a nation.  Could it be that the 40-day fast preceded this explosion of power by the Spirit? After Jesus’ 40-day fast, the scripture says He returned in the power of the Spirit. Yes the promise of Joel 2 is that after the fast, “I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh…”

Forty years ago, in 1967, the Jesus Movement broke out. A youth revival started on the streets swept across the country, exploding on college campuses and coffee houses. People were being saved everywhere. Now 40 years later, we are crying out for God to do it again, way beyond the Jesus Movement!

In 1967, in a war and obviously by the supernatural hand of God, Jerusalem was taken and once again brought under the control of the state of Israel. This was a monumental signpost in the shifting of eras. The dispensation of the times of the Gentiles was now beginning to shift to the times when Jerusalem will become the last days focus for God’s activity in the Earth. For 40 days, we are joining Israel in a 40-day fast crying out to God that Israel would see their Messiah and they would begin to receive their greatest spiritual awakening since the days of the Apostles.

Brothers and sisters, moments like these come only once in a lifetime. To miss such a moment could mean missing the purpose of God for a generation. The generation that refused to cross over the Jordan did not know that they had only one day to make the decision, and missing that day meant 40 years in the desert.

Even now we are receiving reports that other countries are calling 40-day fasts. Could we be in a Global 40-day season of fasting (like Jesus), to see a global outbreak of light when great darkness is covering the Earth?  Beginning the evening of May 28, we are calling two generations to 40 days of fasting and prayer culminating on 7–7–07, the perfection of time. In a massive, national gathering of fasting, intercession, repentance and worship, we seek to declare our desire to remarry the Lord. We want to cross over into the promise land of national revival. We want to break this 40-year curse. May thousands seek God in water, juice and Daniel fasts from May 28 through 7–7–07, The Call in Nashville.

What would happen in America if for 40 days we sealed the electronic cultural sewer that flows nightly into our living rooms and instead, spent our strength seeking the Lord? What if tens of thousands of fathers and mothers across our nation fasted for 40 days repenting and cleansing themselves of inward toleration of sexual immorality, pornography, addiction to food, entertainment and materialism?  What if they prayed daily for their spiritual and physical children to see them converted to Christ and freed from rebellion, from addictions, depression and suicide? What if the young generation fasted for 40 days to be cleansed from lust, media addiction and rebellion toward there parents, believing that a double portion of the Holy Spirit would come upon there lives?

Moses fasted 40 days and mentored a spiritual son named Joshua, which means the Lord saves. Elijah fasted 40 days and threw his mantle on a double portion son, Elisha, which means the Lord saves. Also, John the Baptist fasted in the desert and prepared the way for a double portion son named Jesus, which means the Lord saves. Jesus fasted 40 days and unleashed the apostolic glory of the eternal Son of God into the Earth. What if we are preparing a generation for the greatest day of salvation in history? And so, what if tens of thousands of both generations fast together and gather on 7–7–07 for The Call Nashville in LP Field, to cry out to God in a Joel 2 moment for great national returning to the Lord?

The parade of history has brought us into a profound generational landmark, and a great vacuum has opened again. If the church does not seize this moment, Muslims will! Antichrist rage will!  Sexual perversion will!  Anarchy will!  But now is the time for key men and women, even an entire generation to risk everything to become the hinge of history, the pivotal point which determines which way the door will swing in America and in the nations of the Earth. It’s 40 Days or 40 Years—seize the day!

We will be launching this fast with a worldwide simulcast on GOD TV on May 26, 2007. For all information on the 40-day fast and The Call Nashville please visit our websites.

I took my youth group to winter jam 2007 last Thursday in Roanoke Va. While there, I was moved with compassion greater than I have ever been.

First, a little background, I have been overseas several times to countries like Haiti, and Jamaica. Countries where the unemployment rate is high, malnutrition/starvation is greater and there is little hope. So I am not a virgin when it comes to human suffering.

However, I heard a story and saw a video there that moved me to step out in an act of compassionate faith that I have never done before. There was no manipulation or coercion, just some facts and a call for help.

Holt International is the organization they were asking us to help. Made possible by an act of congress in the 1950’s Bertha and Harry Holt started the ministry out of their home. The beauty of the whole story is that they were moved to act over 50 years ago after seeing a video, much like I was last week. In short their vision made international adoption possible, and their organization continues to facilitate thousands of adoptions. The way we can help is by sponosoring the care of children until they are adopted.

I have contacted everyone I can for a copy of the videos to put up in my podcast as a call for action. I am anxiously awaiting a response.

Now, on to what I saw in the video. Newsong had travelled to China [I believe that was the location], to visit the orphanages there. They explained that they were amazed that in a nursery of 80 infants, none of them were crying.

They later learned that the babies no longer cry because the nurseries are so short-staffed that there are not enough people to attend every baby when it cries.

Additionally, I have a 4 year old with cerebral palsy and we learned early on that some infants can develop flat spots on the rear of their head if they are not made mobile. Many of the children have developed these flat spots due to the impossibility of a single caretaker holding each infant for hours a day, as would occur in a home situation.

Here’s where we all come into play. We can sponsor children to take care of them while they are awaiting adoption. The cost is only $30/month. I only share this next detail to inspire others to act. Those who know me, know my wife and I are just common people with common income, but I was so moved with compassion that I decided we would sponsor 10 children. In my opinion the lives of ten children are worth more than a car payment so I picked the number of children I would sponsor by a total cost per month that would be more than my car payment.

It doesn’t matter how you decide how many children to sponsor, I just ask that you sponsor some.

Isaiah 58:6-12 (Amplified Bible)
6[Rather] is not this the fast that I have chosen: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the bands of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every [enslaving] yoke?(B)

7Is it not to divide your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into your house–when you see the naked, that you cover him, and that you hide not yourself from [the needs of] your own flesh and blood?

8Then shall your light break forth like the morning, and your healing (your restoration and the power of a new life) shall spring forth speedily; your righteousness (your rightness, your justice, and your right relationship with God) shall go before you [conducting you to peace and prosperity], and the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.(C)

9Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; you shall cry, and He will say, Here I am. If you take away from your midst yokes of oppression [wherever you find them], the finger pointed in scorn [toward the oppressed or the godly], and every form of false, harsh, unjust, and wicked speaking,(D)

10And if you pour out that with which you sustain your own life for the hungry and satisfy the need of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in darkness, and your obscurity and gloom become like the noonday.

11And the Lord shall guide you continually and satisfy you in drought and in dry places and make strong your bones. And you shall be like a watered garden and like a spring of water whose waters fail not.

12And your ancient ruins shall be rebuilt; you shall raise up the foundations of [buildings that have laid waste for] many generations; and you shall be called Repairer of the Breach, Restorer of Streets to Dwell In.

Please, sponsor a child today! Right Now! This second :)

International Year-Long Daniel Fast Feb 4th, 2007
Author: FIREKEEP

God is leading me to engage in a fast (Daniel-style) with other believers for a year (and perhaps more as God leads).

Here’s the basic concept: We fast as Daniel did, but 5 days a week (during the work week, e.g from 8am Mon to 5pm Fri) for an entire year.

There are many ways the Daniel fast has been presented. I take my inspiration from the Amplified.

Daniel's Answer to the King by Briton Rivière, R.A. (1840-1920). Painted in 1890, it is now in the Manchester City Art Gallery.

Daniel 10:3
I ate no pleasant or desirable food, nor did any meat or wine come into my mouth; and I did not anoint myself at all for the full three weeks.

This leaves us free to celebrate, fellowship in a more normal manner on weekends.

Coupled with the 10 day contest that Daniel proposed eating only vegetable and drinking water, you can shape it however you like.

The idea is that we join together. I will be seeking His anointing and explicit direction for my life.

My desire is to see the Glory of God revealed in the earth, through a bride wrapped in holiness and empowered by the Spirit of the living God.

If you want to jump in and have some comradery, it would be sweet to do it together in a similar fashion to how national fasts were called in the old testament. Just post a comment and let me know your thoughts.

As someone who refuses to burn copies of CDs I own for friends, and also refuses to accept the same, I want to clarify that no copyright has been violated with this podcast.

Specifically, some have questioned the use of some IHOP onething live music on the podcast. All the stuff on the podcast was either stuff I recorded live, or (the majority of it) came from DVDs I purchased at onething. LET ME BE ABSOLUTELY CLEAR. THERE IS NO COPYRIGHT ON THE DISCS.

I personally heard Mike Bickle say that their copyright is this: “you have the right to copy and redistribute”
I would not take this personally so far as to say that it is legal to copy their commercially produced worship CDs, because he said it in the context of their onething sessions, and teaching materials. But to reiterate the stuff I have on the podcast has NO COPYRIGHT LISTED ON THEM, and I bought them straight from the forerunner bookstore at onething.

So go ahead and enjoy it, after all that is one of the reasons why they do it. To inspire us.

There are also some other things on the podcast that were copyrighted: Example Kris Valotton’s dream of God’s throne, and abortion. I asked Kris if I could put it up on my podcast and he said yes.

So if you are like me and don’t think it is right to “Steal” (copyright infringement boils down to stealing) stuff and “worship” to it. Then you can listen to this podcast with a clear conscience.

Sincerely,

Timothy Luce

KEEP THE FLAME!!!!
